Match Report
Dollar Academy Boys-U15A vs  Glenalmond 6's
On: Thursday, 16 May 2019
Venue: Away

Another lovely sunny day at Glenalmond - the competition was very strong and despite the best efforts of captain Alex Turlik, averaging 24 runs per innings, the team did not progress after its group matches. Too many runs were conceded by the bowling attack, with too many extras given away, giving away 53, 67 and 54 runs in each game - in contrast to last year where 40 was the benchmark.

Gregor Lumsden returned the best bowling figures going for less than 10 an over, whilst Henry Daniels hit the only six for the team. Wilfie Timney kept wicket very well, and he encouraged the team throughout.

Turlik also took the first two wickets in the last game in the first two balls of the innings, however after 5 overs Fettes had some how managed to made 54, with mis-fields, overthrows and missed catches and extras all adding to the excellent batting.

There is lots of learning for next years competition - focus on your own performance and don't think of other teams; give away no extras, bowl more dot balls, field well and don't leave the run chase too late. Perhaps there was an omen for the day when all the half time refreshments were consumed in the minibus on the way to the competition.

Congratulations to the other teams who played much better and deserved to win.
