This really was a game of two halves!

The game started with a run out for the 1st XV against the high School of Dundee, followed by a complete team change against the same opposition.

The Dollar starting XV wasted little time stamping their authority in what became a very one sided affair. Ross McKnight led the charge and quickly broke through to score under the posts. Finn McIlwraith stepped up and added the extras.

McKnight quickly added a second which was duly converted by McIlwraith. McIlwraith then added his own try and conversion before McKnight ran in another try for an early hat trick, again converted by McIlwraith.

McIlwraith not wanting to be outdone, broke free to add another to his tally and slotted over the extras with pinpoint accuracy.

Now was the turn of illusive winger Gabe Smith to join the try fest which was again converted by McIlwraith.

Mcknight’s work was not yet done and he went over for the fourth time to only add to Dundee’s woes with McIlwraith making no mistake with the extras.

Finally as the 1st half drew to a close, Michael Gray sliced through the Dundee defence with McIlwraith marking a fine display with another conversion and a personal points tally of 26 points, to make the half time score 56-0

Dollar changed their complete side which heralded a much more evenly matched game against the Dundee 1st XV. Both teams were set on attacking rugby and it was the Dundee side that proved the more effective, charging into a 12-0 lead.

Ricky Citro broke through for the home side and galloped in for a fine try with Euan Smith making no mistake with the conversion, bringing the score back to 12-7

Dundee responded quickly to extend their lead to 19-7 before Gregor Johnston found his way to the line for a well taken try, again converted by the impressive Smith.

With the game in the balance, it was the Dundee side that got the break through and they saw out the second half 26-14.

Although losing the second half, this was a great performance from the Dollar boys against the Dundee 1st XV. Many caught the eye and only highlights further the strength in depth that Dollar have at the moment.
