Match Report
Dollar Academy Jnr 2B vs  George Heriot's School
On: Saturday, 26 Jan 2019
Venue: Away

George Heriot's 2 - 7 Dollar
Stewart's Melville 5 - 2 Dollar

This morning's fixture was a quad tournament featuring Heriot's, Stewart's-Melville and Compass Club.
In the first match, Dollar showed superb movement and passing, backed up by excellent support rugby, to put pressure on the Heriot's defence from the outset. Strong direct running from the forward pack led to excellent territory from which to launch attacks through both the backs and forwards; Hamish Ferguson crossing the line on three occasions through excellent awareness from his fellow backline. Excellent tackling from Mungo Atkinson, Louis Di Mascio and Riley Beavan-Whitty ensured that Heriots' threat was kept to a minimum. A comprehensive win against a team that narrowly beat us very early on in the season was a further marker as to the progress this team has made.

Through to the final, Dollar met a strong Stewart's Melville game which was scoreless for the first 5 minutes as both teams started frantically. Several missed tackles led to Stew-Mel taking the lead through a brace of tries, however Dollar stayed in the game through a deserved try by Marley Haston. To their credit, Stew-Mel's defensive tackling was solid and we struggled to find a way through, forced to run back rather than forward. A final score by Cameron Fensom in the corner was just reward as Dollar continued to try and find a way through, however, more direct stronger running is an area for consideration for future games against on this age group's strongest schools.
